Introducing the JBS DSG Stage 1 for the DQ250 (6 Speed) Gearbox. An upgrade that not only complements our full Custom Calibrated Stage 1 and Stage 2 software, but one which can also be utilised on a completely standard car.
- Torque Limit Increase:
Our success in tuning the DSG software comes from the command of the clutch pressures, with more pressure on tap to clamp down the clutches, the additional torque applied through high horsepower applications won't strain your clutch packs.
Allowing us to increase the DSG Gearbox's ability to transmit torque while still ensuring the stability and capability of all the mechanical moving hardware within the DSG gearbox.
With this performance program, the DSG computer will no longer initiate steps to dissipate engine torque when the factory limit is reached, which unleashes the true benefits of any engine modifications.
- Increased Shift Response:
The shift response has been increased by up to 20% giving a smoother transition, leading to a decrease in unnecessary clutch slippage under full load accelerations, which reduces clutch wear.
With increased shift time you also get an improved paddle-reaction-time by up to 40% in M-mode.
- Increased Redline and Shift Points:
Increasing the shift points gives you the command of your engine's power in the upper RPM range, we have raised the DSG transmission's rev limit and therefore the automatic shift points to 7000 rpm in S-mode and 6800 in D-mode, as this optimizes the engine's performance range and maintains the safe operating range of the valve springs.
- Automatic Shifting:
With our performance programming, we have put the driver back in complete control. When you opt to over ride S-mode with the paddles, at wide open throttle the software will automatically shift at the newly defined red line. Up to 95% load, you will have the benefit of the removed automatic up-shifting and kick-down to take control over your gear changes. This change to S-Mode is allows you to drive in the high or low gears at low speed, without the revs jumping up or trying to change down and hold a high rpm.
In D mode, the factory up-shift and kick-down settings are maintained.
- Launch Control:
With the JBS Stage 1 DSG Software, launch control is activated on any vehicle that did not come equipped with factory launch control.
A perfect launch is accompanied with a great 0-60 acceleration is one of the best ways to show off your performance mods. Furthermore, improving on the uneventful factory launch, we elevate the launch RPM to 4200rpm in Manual mode and 3800rpm in S-mode; giving you a powerful and controlled launch while maintaining a safe pressure applied to the factory clutches, to provide maximum grip without slip.
- In-dash Gear Display:
When in D or S mode, the active gear is now displayed in the instrument cluster to the right of the PNRDS icons where it wasn't previously (Early Mk5 Platform only).
Not all specifications listed are applicable to every variation of the DQ250 DSG gearbox, although the majority of functions (Raised RPM, Raised Shift Points, Raised Torque and Faster Shift times) are retained.
